Context:The Credit Book of the Bank generates a large proportion of its revenues and is one of the main risks on its balance sheet.

Job summary: The Lombard Credit Officer is responsible for the analysis, granting, daily monitoring and implementation of Lombard facilities. In addition to his controlling function, the Lombard Credit Officer acts as a point of contact and facilitator in support of the Front-Office. In the absence of the Head of Credit he will act as his deputy.

Key responsabilities
  • Handling, analysing, sanctioning, or recommending Credit Applications received from the Front Office for all types of Lombard credit operations, based on the Bank’s Credit Rules
  • Analysing complex and/or non-standard requests (exceptions to policy) and issuing risk-based, specific recommendations to the attention of the Credit Committee taking account of the Bank’s risk appetite
  • Permanent Control of the Clients Credit Book (monitoring of client’s credit exposures, management of collateral shortfall situation in collaboration with Front Office, addressing margin calls and triggering collateral liquidations) 
  • Performing Credit Office administrative tasks (issuing credit documentation, inputting credit limits and loans in the IT systems)
  • Acting as a pit-stop point for the Front Office for all credit related requests
  • Full back-up of the Head of Credit in his absence
  • Performance of controls (Validation of cash and securities transfers (credit check, control of client’s instructions)
  • Production of statistics and KPIs, supporting the Head of Credit on administrative tasks
Your profile

Professional experience & competencies:

  • Five to ten years’ experience in Lombard credit 
  • Experience in Swiss Mortgages and life insurance policy financing would be a plus
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Deep knowledge in financial assets and good understanding of derivative products
  • Ability to work with complex and extensive datasets
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to synthetize and present complex information clearly

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently

Language requirements:

  • French and English (fluency level).  fluency in German and Italian would be a plus.

IT Skills:

  • Strong command in MS office with extensive competencies in Excel formulas. 
  • G2 credits applications an asset

Education:

  • CFC in Banking, a Bachelor degree in banking related fields would be a plus.
