Founded in 1996, SYZ Group is structured around three centres of excellence, each one headed by its own CEO. Thus, each business unit has its own clientele: Banque SYZ serves private banking clients; SYZ Asset Management serves institutional investors; and the Group's newest addition, SYZ Capital, serves clients seeking privileged access to private investments. With more than twenty years of expertise, SYZ Group has emerged as one of the biggest success stories of the Swiss financial marketplace.
“I firmly believe these significant changes within the Group and Banque SYZ will enable us to serve our clients even better and ensure the continuity of our independent, family-owned business,” said Eric Syz, CEO of SYZ Group.
Eric Syz has decided to devote all his time to his role as CEO of the Group, to focus primarily on its strategic direction and developing its client base. At his proposal, the Board of Directors has appointed Yvan Gaillard to succeed him as CEO of Banque SYZ.
As the new CEO of the bank, Yvan Gaillard will continue to sit on the Group’s Executive Committee. Having joined SYZ Group in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Yvan Gaillard has been Deputy CEO of SYZ Group since 2018, in preparation for taking on the role of CEO at Banque SYZ. Before joining SYZ, he worked at Banque Pictet & Cie for 18 years, occupying various managerial positions. Yvan Gaillard is a qualified engineer with a diploma from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Nicolas Syz has been appointed as Head of Private Banking. He joins the Executive Committee of Banque SYZ and will replace his predecessor, Silvan Wyss, who leaves the SYZ Group by mutual agreement. Nicolas Syz joined the Group in 2017 as Head of Business Development for SYZ Private Banking, where he implemented major developments in the structure of the service offering to private banking clients. Previously, he worked for UBS in Zurich and Firmenich in Paris and London. He holds a double Master’s degree in Management from HEC Lausanne and Sciences Po in Paris.
